Trackside Waste Removal & Disposal 2013

Tender description

Translink requires a competent contractor to recover and dispose of trackside waste throughout the railway infrastructure on a 24/7 basis and the transportation of NIR plant, machinery and materials to sites throughout Northern Ireland as required. This scope of work will be at various locations as directed by the NI Railways Project Manager. NI Railways network covers approximately 280 route miles of track. Items for disposal may include concrete and wooden sleepers, rail and components such as base plates, clips, pads and insulators. The successful contractor must comply with all current Northern Ireland policy and legislation/regulation for the non-hazardous and recyclable waste and its transfer. Individual work packages will be instructed by means of a Task Order. This will take the form of an instruction issued by the Project Manager / Service Manager to the successful contractor. These Task Orders may be issued for an individual site or encompass multiple sites and jobs. The works are to be undertaken under a Term Maintenance contract and will run for a single year with a further three optional single year extension.
