Tender description

The Provision of Waste Management and Disposal Services Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health and learning disability services to the population of Surrey and some of its borders. The Trust’s activities produce wastes, both hazardous and non-hazardous, found mainly in the human healthcare and general municipal and commercial waste streams. These wastes are generated in varying quantities across our estate. The Trust’s estate comprises of approximately 47 locations situated throughout the county of Surrey plus some bordering areas of Hampshire, Croydon and Kingston upon Thames. The estate is expected to reduce to approximately 44 sites during the next five years. All of these sites produce waste from one or both of these waste streams every week throughout the year. The tender is split in to four lots:- • Lot One: Human Healthcare Wastes – as described in the European Waste Catalogue (EWC) chapter 18 01 xx wastes from natal care, diagnosis, treatment or prevention of disease in humans • Lot Two: Commercial and industrial wastes – as described in the European Waste Catalogue (EWC) chapter 20 01 xx municipal wastes (household waste and similar commercial, industrial and institutional wastes) including separately collected fractions. • Lot Three: Sanitary Waste - as described in the European Waste Catalogue (EWC) chapter 18 01 04 • Lot Four: Confidential Waste
