The aim of the Life and Times Survey is to provide a time-series and a public record of how our attitudes and behaviour develop on a wide range of social policy issues. The survey is designed to meet two distinctive but complementary needs. The first is as a local resource for use by the general public; the second is for data to inform a more theoretical academic debate within the field of social policy research. The survey currently has a large array of users both within the academic sector and more widely. This includes academic experts within the fields of psychology, politics, sociology and social policy; school children doing projects; policy-makers; grass-roots community groups; lobbyists; students; journalists and others needing background data for their work.
