Tender description
Westminster’s Volunteering Strategy 2014–2019 was launched in March 2014 to increase voluntary activity and civic engagement over the 5 years and to create a greater sense of community identity and resilience. The Team Westminster Volunteering Brokerage service will replace the existing brokerage service and will run from November 2015 for 3 years with a possible 2 year extension. A new volunteering brokerage service is key to the success of volunteering in Westminster and will cover most of the life of the new Westminster Volunteering Strategy. Under the Strategy, the City Council’s entire volunteering offer will be re-branded to ‘Team Westminster’ which will also become the collective term for all of Westminster’s volunteers. As such, the new volunteer brokerage service will be re-branded, Team Westminster Volunteering Brokerage Service. The Westminster Do-It Digital Brokerage Platform will complement the Team Westminster Volunteering Brokerage Service, but will be underpinned by a separate contract. Do-it Trust, the charity that owns Do-It, the UK’s largest volunteering website, will be contracted by the Council to develop a Westminster Council branded digital volunteer brokerage platform powered by Do-It.org. The platform will utilise the layout and features of the national Do-It website but will only feature opportunities located in Westminster and only target people who live and work in Westminster. City of Westminster Council invites providers with experience in delivering the Services to participate in a Market Engagement Day (MED) event on Wednesday 22nd April 2015 at 2pm in Westminster City Hall. If you participate in this market engagement you will not be given any advantage over other potential providers who express an interest when WCC commences the procurement for the Services. Providers interested in participating in the (MED) event should email sshardow@westminster.gov.uk to register for the MED event by 16th April 2015.
