T1261 - Provision of a Furniture Removal and Storage Service

The purpose of the Housing Executive is to provide a service to the whole community, which is fair and impartial and which will bring about an improvement in the standards of housing and environment and makes the best use of tax payers’ money. Further information may be found on our website www.nihe.gov.uk The Housing Executive has statutory responsibility for responding to homelessness, in line with the provisions of the Housing (NI) Order 1988. This legislation imposes a number of duties on the Housing Executive, one of which relates to the storage and protection of a homeless applicant’s belongings, where certain conditions are met. The Housing Executive requires a Furniture Removal and Storage Service commencing 01 December 2015. This will include - Physical packing of household items and removal of furniture, household goods and appliances, personal effects and belongings. Disconnection of appliances by a suitably qualified person. - Ongoing storage (if applicable) - Re-delivery and unpacking of household items and furniture. Reconnection of appliances by a suitably qualified person if specifically requested by the Housing Executive. - Disposal of items. This will primarily relate to meeting the Housing Executives statutory responsibilities to Homeless applicants, but may in very limited instances be required for general needs applicants (at the request of the Housing Executives Landlord Services division). The Housing Executive is inviting tenders based on three Lots. These Lots are: a) Lot One – Belfast Area b) Lot Two – North Area c) Lot Three – South Area Service providers may bid for one, two or all three Lots. The Housing Executive will be awarding a Framework Agreement for each Lot stated above.
