T1204 - Provision of an E-Learning Catalogue

Tender description

The NIHE would like to introduce selected mandatory and personal development e courses as part of the launch of the new learning management system. To date, all formal training has been delivered in a classroom setting within the NIHE. There is a significant amount of mandatory legislative and functional training required for day to day operations which is mainly delivered by internal trainers and requires staff to travel to and from training venues. A feasibility study was recently carried out to investigate/evaluate the benefits of e learning within the NIHE. As a consequence, a hosted managed service for the SABA Learning Management System (LMS) is currently being implemented which will provide a platform for delivery of e-Learning. A blended approach combining instructor led training and targeted e-courses will be taken. This aims to promote and develop a culture of self-learning by getting staff to undertake mandatory training at their desktops as well as exploring wider personal and business development which will complement instructor led training.
