NIR are currently undertaking a number of Signalling schemes that are being implemented in-house by its Signalling Projects Department. These schemes have been designed to the current Network Rail and NIR standards which specifies the use of type approved equipment only. The equipment carries a BR (British Rail) Spec number which signifies that it has passed through a rigorous approval’s process and is deemed suitable for use in a safety critical Railway Signalling system. NIR are seeking applicants who can provide the following good & services. 1. Equipment • Track side AWS (Automatic Warning System) • TPWS (Train Protection & Warning System) • Level crossing equipment • Point operating equipment (HW1000) • Point heating equipment • Remote control & indicating equipment • Signals & signal structures • Track circuit equipment • Treadles devices • Location equipment cases • Relocatable equipment rooms • Signalling control panels • Power supply equipment • Q-series relays 2. Product support 3. Technical support 4. Customer support The aim of this tender exercise is to appoint a suitably qualified Economic Operator to supply this type of equipment over the next four years subject to annual review and break clauses. The estimated expenditure for this Framework will be £6m over the 4 year term. The closing date for tender submissions is 12 noon on Monday 28th July 2014.
