Supply and Installation of a multi-function XPS-UPS system

Tender description

The University is tendering for a multi-function XPS-UPS System will serve a wide range of researchers to deliver chemical analysis of a wide range of materials to include inorganic, organic and biological samples. These may be time and environment-sensitive where care will need to be given to sample storage, transport and analysis. There is also interest in observing changes under different environmental conditions (e.g. temperature) as materials samples may be for a wide range of applications that include catalysis, solar energy conversion, biomedical applications etc. The PAD together with the SAU is expected to meet a different but closely related set of research needs in materials analysis. This is conceived to enable analysis of samples that have been synthesized or have undergone modification by, broadly defined, atmospheric pressure plasma processes. In the PAD, the requirement of maintaining materials properties with no impact from the environment is extremely important which justifies the need of a direct transfer from the PAD to the SAU, or through suitable STC.
