Supply and Delivery of School Bus Seats for Irizar Intercentury Coaches

Scope Translink, comprising of Northern Ireland Railways, Metro and Ulsterbus is the all-embracing title for the integrated public transport operations in Northern Ireland. Translink requires a competent contractor to supply and deliver School Bus Seats for Irizar Intercentury Coaches, to its engineering stores Milewater Road Belfast, within agreed guaranteed timescales. It is Translink’s intention to convert 16 Irizar Intercentury coaches to high capacity school buses, with the option to add a further 14 sets. These buses will have 69 seats, excluding driver, which will consist of: o 12 off rows of 3 passenger and 2 passenger seats. These seats should be no more than 1200mm wide and 800mm wide respectively and will be mounted on one leg and one side wall fixing only. o 1 off row of 2 + 2 passenger seats will be located at the front of the bus saloon to facilitate the current positions of partitions etc. These seats will be of the same construction i.e. 800mm wide and mounted on one leg and one side wall fixing. o 1 off rear 5 passenger seat fitted to the existing seat box arrangement. All seats must be fitted with a 3 point belt which is fully adjustable to suit all school age children. The seat and belt must be manufactured to ensure M3 loading is achievable. All seats must be tested to 76/115/EEC, consolidated to 96/38/EC Anchorages for motor vehicles. Trimming Seating will be trimmed in Holdsworth BHPF31597 Moquette which will be issued free by Translink. A sample of Moquette can be made available on request. Timeline Bidding parties will be expected to deliver the first set of 69 seats four weeks post award of contract, and then to deliver three complete sets every month until the order has been completed. Contract award is anticipated to be February 2013.
