Standard Gases for the AURN and the LAQMN

Tender description

The Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, wishes to let a contract for supply of Standard Gases for the AURN and the ALN. These networks provide the national monitoring arrangements including those areas covered by SG, WG and DOENI, collectively known as the DA. However, the contract is let by the Authority on behalf of Central Government and the DA . The AURN aims to: Inform the public about air quality in near-real time. Provide data for comparison with statutory air quality standards, objectives, target and limit values. Assess effects of air pollution on health and the environment. Inform and support the development of cost-effective planning solutions and identify long-term trends and sources of pollution. Inform policy development. Provide data for use by the scientific community in research. Enhance our understanding of atmospheric chemistry. The primary objective of this contract is to supply high quality standard gases traceable to the whole AURN network, which meets national standards. This will ensure that data made available to the public are robust and that data reported to the commission meet the legal obligations of the Directives Management of each network is the responsibility of CMCUs.
