Tender description
A new Fuel Security Code (“FSC”) for Northern Ireland has been published by the Department of Enterprise Trade and Investment for Northern Ireland (DETI). The primary objective of the FSC is to assist with the effective management of an event where primary fuel supplies for electricity generation are disrupted - a Fuel Security Event. The FSC requires SONI to have in place Fuel Switching Agreements (“FSAs”) with Generators in Northern Ireland. However it is also expected that the FSAs will be used at other times when it is necessary to dispatch Generators onto secondary fuel. The FSC sets out the general principles of cost recovery for the FSAs and these principles will also apply at all other times. SONI is seeking the services of a legal firm to draft, negotiate and support changes to the legal framework to implement Fuel Switching Arrangements
