Small Plant CP6 - Arc Welding Generator Package

Tender description

The purpose of this procurement is to secure a contract for the manufacture, supply and maintenance of a new portable arc welding generator in line with the new NR specification (Jan ’20) following design and testing of prototypes as part of the ITT. The Arc Welding Generator is an auxiliary power supply (APS) unit used in Arc Welding operations across the network. These APS units are specifically designed to supply power to arc welding operations with a new requirement of meeting NR ergonomics standards for operation by a 2-person team. The objective of this procurement exercise is to secure a replacement APS unit suitable for a 2-person lift of maximum 25kg per person. An ORR notice for the replacement of these machines is pending should this replacement unit not be developed and completed in CP6. The product must meet the following criteria: • The APS units shall be designed and manufactured to the minimum requirements as detailed within the specification. The product shall be tested to these specifications during the trial phase and only upon successful demonstration of meeting stated minimum requirements will the business commit to purchasing the required units to meet business needs.
