The University of Ulster operates in an increasingly complex, data-oriented, environment which requires the effective collection and analysis of robust research data in order to facilitate: • evidence-based reporting to senior management • informed, evidence-based strategic decision-making • evidence-based target-setting and benchmarking • effective monitoring and tracking of KPIs and key milestones • evidence-based assessment of our research performance in relation to peer institutions Implementation of this Tool will provide senior managers with robust metrics on all the essential research & innovation KPIs thereby enabling strategic decisions to be made in relation to the funding of research & innovation activities.
