Request for Information - External Provider For Endoscopy

Gateshead NHS Foundation Trusts Endoscopy department is a well established, JAG accredited, forward thinking unit providing a full range of Endoscopy services for the population of Gateshead. The unit is committed to delivering a high quality patient focused service. We form part of the South of Tyne Bowel Cancer Screening South of Tyne Screening Centre, successfully providing the screening service in South of Tyne since February 2007. In March 2013 the centre commenced implementation of the Bowel Scope Screening pilot offering bowel cancer screening to 55 years olds -Gateshead Health Foundation Trust is committed to providing this service from autumn 2013. Due to the ongoing growth in demand for the service we are looking to explore the market in this Request for Information (RFI) for external providers who are able to provide JAG accredited Endoscopists able to carry out a full range of Upper and Lower GI procedures to enhance our seamless quality service. All service delivery options will be considered and should be detailed in the Technical Envelope of this RFI. The quality of the work undertaken in the department by any external provider would be overseen by a senior clinician. This would require an initial review of KPIs and then continued quality assurance by performance data. Please note:This exercise is not part of any pre-qualification or selection process. It is intended as an awareness, communication and information gathering exercise offering an opportunity for suppliers to provide information. This therefore does not represent a commitment from Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust to award a contract or to any provider that expresses an interest in this market engagement exercise.
