Opportunity open to RISQS registered suppliers ONLY under the RISQS category code 15.06.01 - Remote Condition Monitoring [SMP]: As part of Network Rail’s (NR) intelligent infrastructure system initiative Network Rail is looking to tender the supply of Remote Track Void Measurement Devices for plain tracks and switches & crosses. Introduction of the devices on Network Rail’s infrastructure should improve the current method of measuring rail movement on the tracks, reduce safety risks to staff working on the tracks and enable proactive planning of relevant maintenance intervention. The Remote Track Void Measurement Device will monitor vertical rail movement at known problem sites or sites that have voiding and have deteriorated sufficiently that a trigger level has been reached resulting in a speed restriction being enforced. Network Rail intends to initially trial the devices on its infrastructure for a minimum period of 28 days to re-evaluate the actual devices based on their performance, with requirement for production once a Network Rail Product Approval has been obtained by the supplier.
