Remedial Works to Cottages at Crumlin Road Gaol

Tender description

The Project is for the restoration of the existing roof & sympathetic repairs to the brick elevations of 16no.former Wardens Cottages at Crumlin Road Gaol, Crumlin Road, Belfast. The buildings are two storeys in height. The work will include removing the existing natural slates, (salvaging the maximum number for re-use), repairs and partial replacement of the roof timbers, and re-slating the roofs together with associated lead flashings and cast iron rainwater goods. Work to the walls includes the cutting out of all existing wall ties, the provision of wall ties by a secret drive fix method, repointing, resetting of coping stones & minor rebuilding. Additional repair work will be required to the internal floors (both solid and suspended) and excavation of yard areas to original levels. The Buildings are Grade B listed & therefore all work is required to be agreed with NIEA prior to & during construction.
