COUNCIL BACKGROUND INFORMATION Mid and East Antrim Borough Council is undertaking a procurement exercise to select a contractor or contractors to provide a service to treat and/or recycle/recover wastes as detailed within this Terms of Reference document. Mid and East Antrim Borough Council is seeking recycling and recovery treatment services from Residual Civic Amenity, Litter and Bulky Waste; 1. RESIDUAL WASTE FROM THE CIVIC AMENITY SITES (HOUSEHOLD RECYCLING CENTRES), LITTER AND BULKY WASTE Mid and East Antrim Borough Council operates five civic amenity sites with residual waste being delivered from three areas Ballymena, Carrickfergus and Larne. LOT 1 Ballymena Area of Waste Arisings 1. Waveney Road Household Recycling Centre, Ballymena. The mixed general waste, bulky waste and litter is transported by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council to their waste transfer station at Tully Quarry, 116 Moorfields Road, Ballymena, BT42 3HJ which will be used as the centre of arisings for LOT1 - Ballymena. LOT 2 Carrickfergus Area of Waste Arisings 2. Sullatober Household Recycling Centre, Marshallstown Road, Carrickfergus BT38 9DE which will be used as the centre of arisings for LOT 2 - Carrickfergus. LOT 3 Larne Area of Waste Arisings 3. Redlands Household Recycling Centre, Harbour Highway Larne, BT40 1AX; Glenarm Household Recycling Centre, Glenarm; Larne South Household Recycling Centre, Ballycarry. Redlands Household Recycling Centre will be used as the centre of arisings for LOT 3 - Larne.
