Real-time Speciation Measurement of Particulate Matter

Tender description

The Authority is the UK government department responsible for policy and regulations on the environment, food and rural affairs. The Atmosphere and Local Environment Programme (ALE) deals with air quality amongst other issues. The devolved administrations are as follows: the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG), the Northern Ireland Executive, represented by the Department of the Environment in Northern Ireland (DOE), and the Scottish Government. Specific references to the Authority within this document should be taken to include the devolved administrations. The Authority’s currently appointed contractors on the Particle Numbers and Concentrations contract are the National Physical Laboratory. The purpose of this work is to increase understanding of the characteristics of particulate matter in the UK. Defra invites proposals to supply two analysers for the measurement of the ionic components of particulate mass.
