Title: Northern Ireland Water Positional Improvement Project Supplier Information Morning Session Date: 26/02/2014 Session Time: 10:00am to 1:00pm Session Location: Antrim Learning and Development Centre, 61 Milltown Road, Antrim, Co. Antrim, BT41 4NW Google Short URL: http://goo.gl/maps/63cF0 Synopsis: Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland (OSNI) completed a programme of work in 2013 to redress the positional inconsistencies in their large scale vector map dataset and this has resulted in a new positionally improved map dataset. As the majority of the water and sewer data in Northern Ireland Waters (NIW’s) Corporate Asset Register (CAR) is mapped relative to the pre-positionally improved maps it is therefore now in the wrong position. In order to utilise the new maps and subsequent map updates (e.g. new housing and road layouts), NIW require a managed service to shift asset data (e.g. water mains, sewers and their associated fixtures and fittings and operational boundaries) captured with relative accuracy in line with the shift in the new background maps across the full 17,335 map tiles covering Northern Ireland in order to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of its assets. NIW wish to invite suppliers to an information morning where NIW will provide information on the background to the Positional Improvement Project and an insight into NIW’s asset data in preparation for a tender launch.
