PSNI Immersive Road Safety Driving Simulator

Tender description

The NISLEC Project is a collaborative multi agency approach to the delivery of sustainable community based safety education services which will be available to a large cross section of the citizens of Northern Ireland. The project’s primary aim is to deliver an interactive educational experience targeted at specific groups such as primary and secondary level pupils. It also aims to provide additional community based services and education facilities to serve a much wider section of the NI community including young adults, vulnerable or at risk groups, minority groups and the growing third age generation within the province. The project seeks to develop and implement a Safety and Lifeskills Education Centre within Northern Ireland, the aim of which will be to contribute to a reduction in unintentional injuries occurring across the province through the delivery of a range of targeted educational strands to specific vulnerable groups of the community. By illustrating dangerous situations and scenarios within a risk free environment, students are offered the opportunity to learn ways in which these major hazards can be prevented, avoided or managed. The proposed target age range is the 9 - 24 yr old range and the NI Safety and Lifeskills Education Centre will initially champion Road Safety related issues within Northern Ireland.
