Provision of Usability and HCI Research Services

Tender description

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) (including its subsidiaries and affiliates i.e. BBC Worldwide Limited) has a requirement to appoint a roster of suppliers to help it perform usability testing and evaluation services with a wide range of audience types. It is anticipated that these services will cover products on web (PC), interactive TV, IPTV and mobile/tablet services as well as any further services in development. This roster will replace a similar, existing roster of usability suppliers which expires at the end of May 2012. Suppliers will be expected to supply a variety of services including but not limited to: usability testing at fixed laboratories and mobile laboratories within the UK; providing the BBC with the use of test laboratories, observation and meeting room facilities; filming and producing highlights tapes of users; usability testing of prototypes or finished products for websites, all UK iTV and IPTV platforms and mobile/tablet devices; recruitment of users for usability tests; heuristic or expert evaluation of the above products; user-centred design consultancy and workshops; competitive analysis of rival products; field research and ethnographic studies of potential users of the BBC's products; reports, presentations and consultancy outlining the above; and training of BBC staff in a variety of skills related to the above.
