Provision of Renal Welfare Advisor Support Service

University Hospitals Birmingham prides itself in putting the patient experience at the centre of care for our patients with kidney failure and as such have recently expanded our psychological support team. This tender is to support provision of an integrated and effective welfare and benefits support service for our patients, in recognition of the vital need to address these issues for holistic patient care. The service will support the populations as defined in the tender service specification under the care of UHB renal services; that is patients undergoing renal replacement therapy as either dialysis or transplantation and those in the pre-dialysis work up phase. The service provider will deliver a welfare benefits support service that is patient centred and sensitive to individual’s physical, psychological and emotional needs and provide comprehensive information in accessible formats for the whole population describing basic benefit entitlements along with signposting to and co-ordination of community and statutory resources.
