PROVISION OF FRUIT & VEGETABLES TO THE EDUCATION AUTHORITY

NI Education Authority Tender 70000 The Education Authority invites tenders for the provision, on a call-off as required basis, of Fresh and Pre-Prepared Fruit and Vegetables for the period 1 August 2015 to 31 July 2017 with the option of an extension period of 12 months. The provision of Fruit and Vegetables is a key element in the implementation of compulsory nutritional standards. From the current contracts we would estimate that this contract may be worth around £2m pa for all kitchens but this is not any guarantee of spend. The Education Authority recognises that this is a difficult contract to fulfil as it is labour intensive and there are very tight delivery requirements. The kitchens will require delivery of fruit and vegetables 3 times per week and these have to be made during the kitchen opening hours. The contract will be awarded by geographical region/area as per Section 6.1 of Attachment 1 of the tender documents.
