Provision of Face to Face Interpreting & Text Translation Services for the NICS

The NICS, its agencies, and NDPBs requires a Service Provider to provide comprehensive face-to-face language interpreting and speech to text translation services. The scope of service from the Customer, is a responsibility for arranging face-to-face spoken/sign language interpreters and text 2 text translations for certain events from resolving simple enquiries, through social care assessments and tenancy agreements. The scope of the services required for legal aid work include, for example providing interpreting/translation services to the solicitor/his client when providing legal advice, taking instructions from the client, preparation of the defence case/preparing for civil proceedings etc. Interpreting services are required to be provided by qualified and experienced personnel to interpret and translate a wide range of spoken/sign languages. The aim of the Services is to arrange interpreting and translation facilities, as and when required, when instructed to do so by Government Departments, their agencies and NDPBs.
