PROVISION OF 24 HOUR TELECARE MONITORING SERVICE

Tender description

The London Borough of Hillingdon ( 'the Council') currently operates 21 sheltered housing developments across the borough, consisting of 838 units with all sheltered housing accommodation being connected to the current Telecare call handling system provided by Jontek. The Council is seeking to externalise its Telecare emergency alarm system to a sole contractor to provide a 24-hour telephone support line for its elderly residents who will answer calls in accordance with the standards set out in the TSA Telecare code of Practice 2013. The contractor will be expected to provide assurance and escalate issues to either a mobile response unit or the relevant emergency services. The current Telecare system is monitored by 24/7 by Council staff who provide first line response to all alerts raised From 2011 the service has been offered to free to over 85's and was extended to in 2015 to those residents over 80. There are currently 4,500 residents benefitting from Telecare across the borough. This figure is subject to on-going fluctuations. Tender Information The Contract will be for an initial term of 3 (three) years extendable at Hillingdon's sole option for a period of 1 (one), giving a total of 4 (four) years (the Term). Contract commencement date: 1st September 2017.
