BBC Proms In The Park - Event Production Services The role of the Event Production Supplier will be to erect a stage within an enclosed public arena (capacity 40,000), with all associated infrastructure and service facilities. This will include full management of the site and production of the event efficiently and securely in compliance with Health & Safety legislation and in line with BBC values and best practice. In keeping also with the BBC’s unique funding arrangement and public service role, the ‘value for money’ test is key to the provision of all facilities and services. The Event Management Supplier will report to the Editor Live Events, BBC Audio & Music Production, and will also collaborate directly with a range of key partners in bringing this event together, including The Royal Parks (TRP), BBC Radio 2, BBC Proms and BBC Television. On the day of the Saturday event, gates open at 4pm, pre-show entertainment begins from approx. 5.15pm, with the main broadcast show beginning at 7.30pm and ending at 10.30pm. The Sunday event will feature performance on stage from multiple artists running from 3.30pm through to 10pm. The London ‘Proms in the Park’ concert, featuring a BBC orchestra and a range of high-profile musical performers, is broadcast live on BBC Radio 2, online and on digital TV, and features in BBC Television’s networked coverage of the ‘Last Night of the Proms’ through a Big Screen link-up between the Royal Albert Hall and other parks and venues in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland (or anywhere else where similar BBC events are st
