Tender description

The Donegal CDB Peace and Reconciliation Partnership was set up in February 2008 to develop and implement the Donegal PEACE III Action Plans under Priority 1.1: Building Positive Relations at Local Level of the PEACE III Programme 2007 - 2013. In 2010 the Partnership developed its second PEACE III Action Plan for Co. Donegal. One of the main aims of the Donegal PEACE III Action Plan (2011 – 2013) is to challenge attitudes towards sectarianism and racism and the structures that support them. In order to achieve this aim, two objectives have been set as follows: (i) Raising the level of consciousness that these issues do exist in Donegal. (ii) Promoting a greater understanding of what constitutes sectarianism and racism so as to create a greater level of trust and tolerance within the county and on a cross border basis. In order to achieve these objectives, the Donegal PEACE III Action Plan identifies the need to deliver a programme of interventions to challenge sectarianism and racism in the work place. The Partnership is inviting tenders to develop and deliver a programme that will support workplaces to: · Be free from discrimination and harassment · Be welcoming to Black and minority ethnic (including Travellers) employees and service users. · Accommodate and value cultural and linguistic diversity in the workplace, and promote and support English & or Irish language acquisition. ·Take practical steps to achieve full equality of opportunity in practice. Full details are available on www.etenders.gov.ie including detailed terms of reference and procedures for submission of tenders. Closing date for receipt of tenders: 12 noon on 09th July 2012. Further information available from Ms. JoAnne Kilmartin, PEACE III Secretariat at 00353 74 9172231 or email peace3@donegalcoco.ie.
