Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BTUH) and Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (SUH) seek a contractor to support its integrated pathology service – the South Essex Pathology Service (SEPS) to help deliver Hospital and Community Pathology Services to a number of clients in the East of England. SEPS is being set up as a contractual joint venture between BTUH and SUH, and has a highly skilled team with the expertise to deliver the Pathology Service. BTUH and SUH seek a contractor to bring commercial expertise and financial investment to provide the infrastructure and take esponsibility for a range of supporting activities and functions which may include: •the development of a pathology hub laboratory in a warehouse •procurement and implementation of pathology IT systems •logistics - to enable the smooth flow of pathology specimens from multiple collection points throughout the East of England to the laboratory •marketing •supply chain management - to ensure the efficient provisions and delivery of equipment and consumables •service transformation We are seeking expressions of interest from organisations who are interested in providing the infrastructure and support services listed above to allow SEPS to deliver a pathology service to clients in the East of England
