Tender description
Sussex Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) are responsible for commissioning health services that meet the needs of the population in a way that is clinically appropriate and financially sustainable. To do these CCGs need to commission specifically for their local population and collectively to ensure high quality, sustainable systems for the wider population. To oversee the development and delivery of a high quality, sustainable services across Sussex, all the Sussex CCGs undertake to collaborate. In this way the needs of the whole of Sussex will be assessed and plans to improve services co-ordinated, to provide the best possible health care for all. Each CCG will maintain individual accountability to the population they serve. The Sussex collaborative will build upon the Sussex Together plan; to develop a clear strategy for the county and ensure that plans at all levels of commissioning are aligned to help deliver the change needed for the whole of Sussex. The clinical commissioning groups from Sussex and East Surrey are also committed in ensuring their respective urgent care systems are providing out of hospital care in settings that are safe and appropriate. This will require key changes in primary care provision with the out of hour’s service providing the crucial interface between the two. As part of this collaborative approach to commissioning; four service areas are to be tendered for the Out of Hours Primary Care Services in Sussex and East Surrey CCGs. The four areas include the following commissioners: Area 1: Coastal West Sussex CCG Area 2: Brighton & Hove CCG Area 3: Hastings & Rother CCG, Eastbourne, Hailsham & Seaford CCG, , High Weald Lewes & Havens CCG Area 4: Crawley CCG, Horsham & Mid Sussex CCG, East Surrey CCG Each area will have slight variations to the service specification so ensure its services meet the needs of their respective populations.
