Tender description

The Countess of Chester’s Commercial Procurement Service is developing a number of framework agreements which are specifically targeted towards innovations within orthopaedic theatre procedures. This will allow for greater market penetration for smaller business and as such drive greater competition which may have otherwise been overlooked within a wider scale orthopaedic instrumentation framework. This framework will specifically target the requirement to drill and measure screw implant requirements within trauma surgery. We call for innovative solutions to allow surgeons the ability to drill and then measure the required screw length in a single step, removing the requirement to withdraw the drill bit and insert a depth gauge to measure which can be problematic and time consuming in large fragment trauma cases, more so for less experienced surgeons. Bidders will be required to demonstrate how their solution will increase theatre time efficiency against the traditional depth gauge method whilst maintaining high clinical standards.
