Tender description

The Western Social Investment Zone Steering Group has identified a project (SATCHEL) that is aimed at providing services for young children from 4 years old and their families when they become ineligible under the Department of Education’s SureStart programme as one of its 10 Strategic priorities. SureStart is a Government initiative targeting 0-3 year olds and their families, recognising the importance of supporting parents/carers and the value of quality experiences to very young children. The SATCHEL programme will operate across the Western Social Investment Zone which comprises the Council areas of Strabane, Omagh, Limavady, Fermanagh and the rural wards of Derry City Council. The SATCHEL programme is aimed at supporting families through the transition to Nursery/Pre-school provision into P1 and P2. It will do this by delivering SureStart type services to families of children from 4 – 6 yrs. In June 2014, DVC received an offer of funding from OFMDFM and now requires a Contractor or consortium to deliver the Training and Employment Support Programme for the SATCHEL Project.
