Tender description

This tender is for the provision of non life insurance broking services to the BBC. As the media world continues to evolve so the BBC needs to ensure that it not only manages current areas of risk but also identifies new developing areas, managing the financial consequences through risk transfer and or internal risk retention. The BBC corporate insurance arrangements extend to the entire BBC Group including commercial subsidiaries and some BBC Commissioned Independent Productions. These activities can take place anywhere in the world and although the majority of assets are UK based, the BBC have a number of offices outside of the UK. As is common with many large organisations the BBC practises an element of self insurance. The suppliers will be required to advise upon and assist the BBC in the management of these insurances (including placement) as well as the risk retention strategy. Given the global nature of the BBC activities and the wide variety of risk the BBC faces when filming / recording the suppliers must also demonstrate the ability to respond quickly and effectively to requests for information/advice on BBC coverage and placement of ad hoc insurances as and when required. This will include circumstances where short notice of an intended activity arises.
