BACKGROUND INFORMATION The Northern Ireland Prison Service (NIPS) is an Executive agency of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and is responsible for the management of Her Majesty’s Prisons in Northern Ireland. There are three Prisons in Northern Ireland which comprise of HMP Maghaberry and HMP Magilligan which accommodate adult male prisoners and Hydebank Wood Prison and Young Offenders Centre (YOC) which accommodates both Young Offenders and adult female Prisoners. The NIPS estate also includes a Prison Service College and a Prisoner Assessment Unit (PAU). Additional information about NIPS is available on: www.niprisonservice.gov.uk Description of Work – an Overview The contract is for Pest Control maintenance of NIPS’ premises throughout Northern Ireland. During the period of the contract the tenderer is required to make routine inspections and service and to attend call-outs within 24 hours (where a report of an infestation has occurred). The tenderer shall be required to carry out the tasks specified in Section One – Scope of Services section and adhere to the clauses in Section Two – Environmental, Health and Safety. The locations of the 5 establishments to be serviced under this contract are: Maghaberry Prison, Old Road, Ballinderry Upper, Lisburn, Co Antrim, BT28 2PT. Magilligan Prison, Point Road, Limavady, Co Londonderry, BT49 0LR Hydebank Young Offenders Centre & Female Prison, Hospital Road, Belfast, BT8 8NA.
