Tender description

Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) is an executive agency of the Department of the Environment responsible for the protection and promotion of the environment. The aim of NIEA is: “To protect, conserve and promote the natural environment and built heritage for the benefit of present and future generations” NIEA is responsible for managing, protecting and promoting 8 country parks, 60 nature reserves, 15 visitor centres and 190 historic sites, including some of Northern Ireland’s best known iconic sites such as Carrickfergus and Dunluce castles. NIEA also stages almost 300 public events at many of these sites and properties throughout the year. Effective signage at these sites is essential if visitors are to engage with the site in a positive and informative way. By guiding, informing and educating visitors at these sites and properties, NIEA will not only increase visits to other sites but will also help to engage and involve visitors in key environmental messages and campaigns.
