Provision of Insurance Services to the Office of the Official Solicitor in NICTS This project is proposed by the Official Solicitor to the Court of Judicature in Northern Ireland who in discharging her role as financial Controller, is responsible for protecting and maintaining Patients’ properties both vacant and occupied. As part of this responsibility, it is incumbent on the Official Solicitor to ensure that properties of Patients and Minors for whom she acts are appropriately insured. It is in connection with this that the Official Solicitor requires the services of an Insurance Provider, a need which was identified following a review of the Official Solicitor’s Office. The Insurance Provider will be responsible for:- i)arranging insurance for a newly acquired property on the day of notification; ii)adding or removing properties from the insurance portfolio at the direction of the Official Solicitor; iii)providing confirmation when a property is added or removed from the portfolio; iv)amending insurance cover from occupied to vacant for short term periods to take account of the occupier being admitted to hospital; v)providing insurance cover in respect of vacant properties which will be inspected by a qualified Surveyor; vi)provision of Public Liability insurance in respect of land.
