Market Sounding Exercise Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Northern Ireland Food Animal Information System The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) is currently preparing to initiate a procurement process to award a contract for the replacement of its animal health, public health and animal welfare information system. Prior to initiating the procurement, the Department wishes to establish the level of market interest in participating in the procurement process. The objectives of the exercise are to obtain up-to-date information and feedback from the private sector on the capability of the market to provide the range of required system functionality. Suppliers interested in participating in this exercise can download the Market Sounding document which provides background information and outlines the scope of services to be provided by prospective suppliers and complete and return the questionnaire attached at appendix 1 to this document. Any submission received in response to this exercise will not constitute any contractual agreement between the respondent and DARD. It is anticipated that the procurement process will be initiated through notification in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) in June 2012.
