NHSCT - DESIGN TEAM APPOINTMENT - FOR TRUSTWIDE DIGITAL MAMMOGRAPHY INSTALLATION

Tender description

The NHSCT are seeking to appoint a design team for the proposed reconfiguration and redesign and enabling works to the Antrim Area Hospital Mammography Screening Unit to accommodate the replacement of the existing Mammography scanners and the introduction of further Mammography scanning mobile units across the trust. Part 1of the works are primarily aimed at implementing the physical modifications to form the new mammography centre required to facilitate the management of the scanning centre where all of the mobile units will transfer their data. Part 2 of the works is to form a number of Scanner parking areas at designated sites across the Trust at Antrim Hospital, Braid Valley Site Ballymena, Moyle Hospital Site Larne, Mid Ulster Hospital Magherafelt and Whiteabbey Hospital and to provide them with services and data connectivity to allow the service to run. The works will be carried out in a live, acute hospital environment. The Mammography Department is one of the busiest departments in the hospital and the works must be designed and phased in such a way as to cause the minimum amount of disruption to the service. It is anticipated that complex medical imaging, mechanical and electrical services will be required as part of the works in Antrim Hospital and the team should have adequate experience of same. The works are to be completed and handed over by 28th February 2015. The NHSCT confirm that the following consultants will be required to form part of the design team; Lead Consultant, Architect, Quantity Surveyor, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer and CDM coordinator. Schedules of duties for these consultants will be included in ITT. The lead consultant (contract administrator) will be the architect.
