NHS Wakefield CCG Direct Access Community Endoscopy Service AQP

Tender description

NHS Wakefield CCG is seeking providers who can provide high quality Direct Access Endoscopy services (diagnostic investigation and report) delivered in community settings within the boundaries of Wakefield District. The overarching aims of the service are: To provide a Patient centred service; To improve access to diagnostics and avoid the need for unnecessary referral to secondary care; Ensure patients receive the right test at the right time and in the most clinically appropriate setting; To ensure the diagnostic testing is integrated across pathways of care, that the report and images follow the patient and there is no unnecessary duplication of investigation; To enable patients and referring clinicians to access a choice of provision according to patient choice, clinical need and relevant care pathway The Commissioner requires the provider (s) who are able to deliver a Direct Access Community Endoscopy service within the Wakefield Area for the following list of direct access diagnostic services; Flexible Sigmoidoscopy Oesophagastroduodenoscopy (OGD) Colonoscopy Any provider will be eligible to apply for this AQP subject to demonstrating competency against the specified criteria outlined in the specification. The successful provider(s) will deliver Direct Access Community Endoscopy Services (diagnostic investigation and report) to patients registered with a NHS Wakefield CCG GP Practice. The Provider (s) must also ensure the services delivered are located within the boundaries of Wakefield District. The successful provider(s) will be expected to sign the standard NHS contract, accepting all terms and conditions. It should be noted that under the Any Qualified Provider model, there will be no guarantees of volume or payment in the contracts awarded.
