NHS Leeds AQP Provision of Low Risk Basal Cell Carcinoma Services

Brief Description of Service Requirements: The aim of the service is to provide additional capacity in a community based location for patients requiring a diagnosis and treatment service for low risk BCC. The objectives of the service are: • To provide high quality, cost effective, local community BCC services for patients registered with a Leeds GP practice. • To provide services that comply with accepted best practice in line with national and local guidance, relevant accreditation processes, relevant guidelines in clinical practice and robust governance arrangements. • To provide a complete holistic service user focussed care package including pre and post-operative care, advice and information. • To ensure consistent and continuous care between health professionals, effective and efficient communication. The CCGs need assurance of competence, quality and safety standards and Providers must be aware of and following the minimum requirements as laid down in national guidance. The successful providers will be required to sign the NHS Standard Contract for the service and accept all terms and conditions. The services will be commissioned using the Any Qualified Provider process under which assurance of competence, quality and safety standards is required. Providers will be eligible to join the qualified provider list subject to demonstrating competency against specified criteria. Activity will be paid on a cost per case basis at national and a Local Tariff rate depending on the pathway. (see particulars schedule3). A CQUIN scheme will be available. It should be noted that under the Any Qualified Provider model, there will be no guarantees of volume or payment in the contracts awarded.
