Tender description

The Courtyard Theatre, Ballyearl is a 180 seat performing arts venue which opened 1993. The theatre is part of Newtownabbey Borough Councils Ballyearl Arts and Leisure Centre and is managed jointly with the Councils 400 seat performing arts venue Theatre at The Mill, which is located a short distance away at Mossley Mill. The current retractable seating bank in the Courtyard Theatre has reached the end of its life and as a result of mechanical problems is no longer able to be moved to allow for flexible flat floor use of the space. The Council is seeking tenders for the supply, delivery and installation of a new retractable seating bank, which must be fully automated and able to be recessed under the existing balcony. The system must be power operated and capable of being opened and closed using a single hand controller and one or more power drives.
