Tender description

Newtownabbey Borough Council has an ongoing maintenance repair and improvement obligation to its estate – buildings, parks and open spaces. To fulfill this obligation the Council has historically carried out work under 3 programmes. Firstly, major projects relating to significant expenditure on “one off” schemes – new build, extension and refurbishment. Secondly, minor works projects and repairs; and thirdly, direct labour operations for day-to-day maintenance. This tender relates to the second programme - minor works. The Council wish to appoint contractors who would be placed on a select list for a term of one year (with possible extension for a further two years) to carry out repairs, maintenance and minor works to the Council’s Estate. Details of how the contract will operate are given below (Scope of Contract). A list of the properties for which the Council is responsible is given in Appendix I. The Council is therefore looking to appoint contractors with suitable experience in the field of estate repair, maintenance and minor mechanical and electrical works (buildings and ground work).
