Tender description
Newtownabbey Borough Council has recently completed a review of its playing fields provision. This has highlighted a number of issues relating to sports facilities within the Borough. One of these is an under supply of pitches for Association Football, Gaelic sports and Rugby. As a way to increase provision the Council intends to build a single 3G synthetic pitch at the Valley Park. This pitch will be of sufficient size to accommodate Gaelic sports, with a playing area of approximately 135 x 90m. This will allow the marking out of two Association football pitches within the playing area. The pitch will be floodlit to allow play throughout the day and all year round. It will also incorporate ball stop fence and spectator barrier/rails.
