Material Recyclable Facility Contract

Tender description

arc21 is procuring a contractor for the purposes of providing the services on behalf of 6 Councils and the contract will be split into two Lots to reflect the different waste configurations for the Newry, Mourne and Down District. The main purpose of the service is the receipt, transfer, processing/brokerage to end markets of wheeled bin, kerbside collected dry recyclables and separately collected mixed glass including but not exclusive to materials such as aerosols and polish wax tins, waxed coated beverage cartons, mixed food and drink cans including clean aluminium foil, newspaper and pamphlets, mixed papers, card and cardboard, plastic bottles, non bottle mixed rigid plastic packaging, mixed glass collected separately and mixed glass not collected separately. Lot 1 comprises of mixed dry recyclable material with separately collected mixed glass applicable to Antrim and Newtownabbey, Ards and North Down, Belfast City, Lisburn & Castlereagh, Mid and East Antrim and Newry, Mourne and Down Councils. Larne area falls under the Mid and East Antrim Council boundary and will collect the mixed glass separately from the comingled dry recyclables at the kerbside in split body 26 tonne RCVs. Lot 2 comprises of the mixed dry recyclable material inclusive of glass applicable to a specific area of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council only.
