Tender description

The proposed development of the Radiotherapy Unit at Altnagelvin Hospital will be on the site of the current mortuary. In line with best practice, the unit will deliver both chemotherapy and radiotherapy services to the catchment population. Initially three Linear Accelerators will be required to meet the predicted demand for radiotherapy, however, four bunkers will be built to provide space for future expansion. Additional inpatient beds are likely to be required as well as additional day case accommodation. The project may involve connection to & work within the existing Oncology Department known as the Sperrin Suite. Full support services must be developed as well as the ICT infrastructure to support the new unit.
