Tender description

Brief Description: Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust (MEHT) are looking to appoint a service and repair contractor to undertake the regular servicing and call out repairs to their lift portfolio at Broomfield Hospital Chelmsford and St Peters Hospital Maldon Essex. Objectives MEHT requires a fully comprehensive service, callout, and repair facility for lifts located in Broomfield Hospital Chelmsford and St Peters Hospital Maldon Essex. The business of MEHT conducted at the premises includes the operation of hospital and commercial facilities staff and visitors and may include some with specialist needs. The Contractor should be willing to enter into an on-going arrangement with MEHT, under which the services shall be supplied At all times the lifts are required to operate safely and efficiently for the use of staff, visitors, and others that may wish to use them, with minimum disruptions during busy periods. Periods for the lift "out of service" should be kept to a minimum, through a programme of preventive maintenance, proactive repair, and prompt attention to any failure. Failures should be limited through the application of manufacturer's maintenance recommendations. Costs should be controlled within a Fully Comprehensive Maintenance annual premium through the inclusion of all callouts and repairs, as part of the contract, during normal and outside normal working hours. The successfully tenderer will need to be able to respond to all calls with 2 hours 24 hours a day and to emergency calls within 1 hour 24 hours a day. The contract will be over seen by the appointed lift consultant for the trust. The Contractor shall include all costs associated with the provision of staff and any necessary material etc. during attendances at LOLER Thorough Examinations The initial contract period is 3 years with the option for orders being placed on a yearly basis from the commencement date, with a provision for a two-year extension.
