Tender description

The Project is for the provision of an upgrade to the Ballycastle Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW). Upgrading Ballycastle WwTW will comprise: • New Inlet Works including: Replacement Screening including screening conditioning and storage unit, Grit Removal; Inter -stage pumping station; • Conventional Secondary Treatment Activated Sludge Plant including: Selector tanks; Activated Sludge aeration tanks; Sludge return pumping station; • 2 No Final Settlement Tanks; • Multi-compartmental storm water storage facility; • Sludge management incorporating: Thin Sludge holding tank; Sludge Thickening Unit, Thickened Sludge holding tank & Polyelectrolyte dosing system; Return sludge liquors system; • Washwater and Potable Water Booster Set; • Odour Control Plant; • Stand-by Generator; • Motor Control Centres, Telemetry, Control and Instrumentation; • Site Lighting and Access; • Site Fencing; • Flood protection measures. An 18 month contract is envisaged incorporating design, construction, commissioning and performance testing. Pre-treatment, storm water management and wastewater discharge will need to be provided until the upgraded works are commissioned.
