Northern Ireland’s Agri-Food sector is a dynamic and increasingly successful industry that is firmly positioned for ambitious and sustainable growth in both the short and long terms. Many of our biggest and most successful businesses are driving growth through sales outside of Northern Ireland and helping to create employment throughout the region. In addition to larger businesses, Northern Ireland has a rapidly growing base of entrepreneurial, smaller and artisan enterprises, many of which have already won international awards for products combining outstanding taste, quality and innovation. To build on the successes that have been achieved through the Great Taste Awards, Invest NI has identified an opportunity and a need to assist those companies targeting the Speciality Food Sector in Great Britain (GB) through a tailored programme of support. The aim is to assist each participating achieve a minimum sales target of £50,000 per company by providing these businesses with the knowledge, skills and access points required for entry into the high end speciality arena, the multiple retail sector and the foodservices sector in the areas of Greater London and the South East of England.
