Invest NI - International Business Development Programme

Invest Northern Ireland (Invest NI) is Northern Ireland’s business development agency. Our aim is to support new and existing businesses to grow and compete internationally, and to attract new inward investment to Northern Ireland. We support business to achieve higher levels of innovation, exports and improved productivity. The International Business Development Programme is part of a wider suite of training and development programmes which make up Invest NI’s Business Development Academy, which in turn is a key component of our overall Customer Management Programme. The Customer Management Programme has been developed to review and optimise how Invest NI identifies and develops potential new customer relationships and also to maximise the benefits of managing existing customer relationships. This programme builds on the work done as part of Transform (the overall Invest NI change management programme) and is aligned with other internal projects and aims to deliver best practice customer management methodologies. Invest NI now wishes to appoint a suitably experienced Contractor to design, develop and deliver an International Business Development training programme for customer facing staff. For the purposes of selection of the individual staff to be included in the first phase of the Internationa Development Programme we will concentrate on those individual staff who have a clear link to the ‘business development’ aspects of the customer relationship. This will include a range of grades including Business Development Executives, Business Development Directors and Senior Business Development Directors (see Annex A for details of the roles of each grade). This first phase includes approximately 40 managers and 40 staff (80 staff in total). Subsequent phases will include delivery of the programme for newly appointed staff and also additional 'advanced level' modules
