INVEST NI - EXTENSION TO UNIT 11 ANTRIM TECHNOLOGY PARK (B2)

Tender description

This Design and Build contract is for provision of a 440sqm (approx) extension to an existing factory – Unit 11, Antrim Technology Park, Antrim. The factory is operated by Schrader Electronics to manufacture tyre pressure monitoring systems and will remain fully operational throughout the duration of the contract – possibly 24/7. The proposed single storey extension is for industrial use and should be similar in height (approx. 7m high) and construction to the existing building. The extension should generally consist of composite insulated wall and roof panels on a steel frame, with a concrete floor on suitable foundations. The works will include new electrically operated roller shutter doors, double glazed windows and a suspended ceiling at around 3.5m above finished floor level. The site works will involve pedestrian access ramps, ground re-grading and finishing, diversion of services and drainage runs. Services will comprise general lighting and power, fire/intruder alarm systems, heating/cooling, ventilation, sprinkler system, and some additional bespoke M&E requirements specific to Schrader work operations. The pre construction period is estimated at approx 4 weeks. During the design / pre-construction period the CPD indicative drawings / works information should be developed and the necessary statutory approvals submitted. Planning approval shall be obtained by the client prior to tender. Following the pre-construction period approval / sign off, the construction period will commence and this is estimated at approx. 18 weeks. All necessary certificates of statutory approval must be provided prior to Handover. Electrical sub-contractor will be required to be NICEIC accredited or have ECA membership and the Mechanical sub-contractor shall be certified to HVAC.
