Tender description

Translink is the brand name of the organization responsible for operating integrated public transportation services within Northern Ireland. The organization is comprised of three companies: Metro (formerly Citybus), Northern Ireland Railways and Ulsterbus. The companies are subsidiaries of NITHC (Northern Ireland Transport Holding Company Ltd.) which is the body responsible for providing bus and rail public transport in Northern Ireland. Throughout Northern Ireland and also in Stranraer, Translink has more than 80 manned locations, encompassing administrative centres, Bus Depots, Railway Stations and halts, bus engineering workshops, railway maintenance facilities and signalling and telecommunications relay rooms. The ICT Programme has identified the replacement/upgrade of telecommunication systems, devices and cabling as a key project to deliver an improved data network and voice telephony system.
